CTT discussed in Rome amidst a political crises

In the Italian Chamber of Deputies, a few MPS have introduced proposals for laws establishing a currency transaction tax (CTT) and Heikki Patomäki was one of the experts invited to a hearing in the Italian Parliament "concerning a fact-finding investigation on forex transaction taxes" which was arranged by the Committees on Foreign Affairs and on Finance of the Italian Parliament. Relaunching the Draft Treaty
NIGD is planning a relaunch of the CTT Draft Treaty (see nigd/ctt) in September in Finland. In the following months the Draft Treaty is being translated into Finnish, Swedish and Portuguese, whereas the Draft Treaty already exists in English and Japanese.

Yoko Akimoto, ATTAC Japan, has joined members Mikael Böök, Katarina Sehm Patomäki and Ruby van der Wekken in the cttcampaigns.info team which functions as an editorial board of the site. We are looking for further team members from Brasil, Africa and India.

Amongst our future plans also belong the establishment of an International Cooperative Society of cttcampaigns.info in which each member will own its own share of the cooperative.
