Global Governance in Montreal 2002
Laura Nisula represented NIGD at the GO2 meeting in Canada.
The World Social Forum and related events European Social Forum
NIGD held two workshops at the ESF in Florence in mid-November 2002.
World Social Forum III
In January 2003 the third World Social Forum took place in Porto Alegre. Katarina Sehm-Patomaki has written a report on some of NIGD's activities at WSF III.
Report on Uppsala Social Forum
Uppsala Social Forum was a highly successful event organized in April 2003 in the university town of Uppsala in Sweden.

Conference on Globalization by Guy Verhofstadt
In 2001 and 2002 the Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhoofstadt organized international conferences inviting to a dialogue with "anti-globalization" NGOs. Heikki Patomaki attended the first conference and wrote a report.
Open Letter to Minister Erkki Tuomioja, host of the Helsinki Conference
In December 2002, the Finnish government hosted a Helsinki Conference. NIGD's representatives were among the conference participants from civil society who signed an Open Letter to Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, host of the Conference.
NIGD's comments on the Helsinki Process
Following the Helsinki Conference in December 2002, the Finnish Government decided to launch a Helsinki Process. NIGD was asked to comment on the background documents of the process.
