Some instructions on the WSF 2007 and beyond! methodological tool www.WSFprocess.net

The registrations of organisations and activities for WSF 2007 takes part on http://www.wsfprocess.net/
The WSFprocess.net is a plone site and a variety of tools is available for those interested to develop and share  their activities in the run up to Nairobi. WSFprocess.net will also remain existent after WSF 2007, which seems to be an exciting development towards a more permanent database on the development of alternatives of the global social and justice movement through the WSF process. The database with all registered groups, organisations, peoples, activities and proposals is easily viewable and searchable.

The site has a helpdesk : http://www.wsfprocess.net/how-to-get-help

An individual can become WSFprocess.net site member.
One registers via the "new user" option on www.wsfprocess.net
- you will receive a message with a confirmation of your site username and password in your inbox
- At this point, you have access to all the registered data in the website as an individual.

An individual can then register an organisation on the site.

Once an organisation is registered, other members of the organisation can then come on board of the registration.
In order for you to become 'participant' of an organisations registration a simple process must be followed :
- You first become WSFprocess.net site member as an individual
- Inform the person who has registered your organisation (Ruby for NIGD) that you have registered as wsfprocess site member
- This person will then invite you on board of the organisations registration (=fascilitate an invitation coming your way in your inbox))
- You will receive a second message in your inbox. Follow the instructions, which will ask you to accept or refuse with a simple action the invitation
- after choosing 'accept' you will now have access to the organisations registration and you will be able to function within the website from within the organisation's registration.

An organisation can register an 'activity' on the site.
'Activity' on WSFprocess.net can mean two things : it can mean an event to be included in the first three days of the Nariobi program (and this then needs to be specified). Or, the 'activity' can be an ongoing development with a scope beyond Nairobi which not necessarily translates into an event in Nairobi.

I have so far not found any indication of a limit on the amount of activities as in Nairobi events to be proposed per organisation. Whereas there seems to be no registration fee for an organisation itself, there is instead a registration fee per event according to the scale of participants you indicate (up to 50 people 85 euro, up to 100 people 130 euro etc.) Download all registration costs from the page http://wsf2007.org/individual-registration-for-wsf-2007-is-now-open

Besides registering an activity, WSFprocess.net site offers tools to develop an 'activity'. One has a working area at your disposal where to put up relevant documents, make notes etc.etc. As such an organisation can within WSFprocess.net develop its activities. It can also invite others to view and participate this work.

Members of an organisation can also decide to form a 'group' working on a particular event with other members of other organisation(s). A group can have its own working area with working tools as discussion forum, mailing list etc. This is the former dynamic in the WSF methodlogy of 'agglutination', or the holding of joint events. A group will automatically have a mailing list created for it to fascilitate communications.

Organisations or 'Groups' can register proposals - which are meant to be the basis for the 4th day activities of the forum, according to this years methodology of 3 days of seminar and workshops, followed by a last day of more strategy and proposal oriented sessions.

Whilst many initiatives will have their own working methods, it seems a good suggestion to give visibility to initiatives in the wsfprocess.net site and as such let them be part and constituitive of the WSF process.

Please note that individual registration is a seperate process, find more details on http://wsf2007.org/registrations
